I recently gave a lengthy interview about the production process on South By Scooter to Cinema Australia. The interview covers how I made the film, focusing on the more interesting parts of what was overall a pretty interesting process. Full disclosure: I interviewed myself for this article. What!? Watch: Max Talks South By Scooter on TV
As part of Little Big Shots' tenth anniversary celebrations, Channel 31 put together a really neat documentary about the festival. In it I talk about South By Scooter, how I produced the film, and what it means to be a young filmmaker in the festival.
I couldn't be happier with how the show turned out. I've always felt that the main thing South By Scooter is lacking is a hair light, and we've certainly made up for that here.
The show aired a few times in June and is now available to watch online. The South By Scooter part begins at around the 3:20 mark, but the whole thing is worth a watch. Check it out below:
Max/South By Scooter in the Sunday Age
In case you missed it, here's a scan of Max Piantoni - 'Filmmaker' - from the Sunday Age. What fun!
You can also read the article on The Age's website. Or if you're a cool Sydneysider maybe you'd prefer it in the SMH…
I got 'featured' in my local paper.
That 'recent' incident involving a 'trip' to the South Pole got featured in my local paper the Progress Leader the other day. Doing my best to make Mum / my friends' mums proud! Are you reading this Christine? The photo shoot was hilarious. The fitness class on Canterbury oval had no idea what we were up to… NOW they know!
South By Scooter will be screening several times over the weekend as part of the Little Big Shots International Film Festival. The festival is in Melbourne at ACMI, so If you're interested in coming along I encourage you to book your tickets soon as sessions are beginning to sell out.

Listen To: Max Talks South By Scooter on 3CR's On Screen.
Last Saturday myself and Chloe Boulton appeared on 3CR's On Screen. We had a great chat with Melinda O'Connor about Little Big Shots and my film South By Scooter. It was a real pleasure to be on a show with such lively conversation. It's well worth a listen, and you may do so above. Our segment begins at the start and goes for about fifteen minutes.
